The whole market says “contact us for a quotation”. We put three soil classes and a rate on the website so you can calculate in advance. That saves you time and saves us quotations that lead nowhere.

One kind of work, done properly.
Spitforce digs cable trenches by hand. No paving, no directional drilling, no machine earthworks. One discipline, carried out by crews who do this every day.
Why we exist
Grid operators and fibre contractors are caught between two things: a rollout that has to continue, and too few people to do the digging. At the same time, no machine may come near existing cables and pipes — that is hand work, required by the CROW 500 guideline.
We have made that hand work our only product. Settled crews with their own foreman, a published rate per soil class, and agreements about difficult ground fixed in advance rather than argued about afterwards.
How we work
Three things we do differently
We deliver work, not hours
You buy finished metres, not man-hours. If output disappoints, that is our problem. Which is exactly why we pin the classification down so precisely.
We report before we dig on
If the ground proves heavier than agreed, you see it with a photograph and a measurement at the moment it happens. Not in a variation invoice for metres already closed.
The crews
Settled people, their own foreman
We work with settled digging crews who are on site with their own foreman. That foreman allocates the work, watches the quality and is your point of contact on location. It saves you coordination: you buy a result, not a crew you have to direct yourself.
All diggers hold VCA safety certification and work with their own tools and personal protective equipment. If you engage us as main contractor, the accompanying documentation travels into your chain — we make sure it is complete and current.
